It finally happened

For sensitive peeps, this may be TMI and you could be scarred for life, or at least the next couple of minutes. You are Forewarned.

One of the most frequent comments we get is “I couldn’t visit there. My stomach wouldn’t cope with the food”.

One of the most asked questions we get is “Haven’t you had stomach problems yet?”.

629 days or 89 weeks and 6 days or 1 year, 8 months and 20 days of nomad / work / lifestyle and, finally, (@$)it happened.

Travellers' Diarrhoea. Montezuma's revenge. Delhi belly. There. We said it. Out loud. We’ve shared.

Over the past 18 months we have been nothing less than fastidious, washing our hands, using anti-bacterial wipes and hand gel, eating only cooked foods, avoiding anything that we are unable to verify, not eating raw vegetables, drinking only bottled, filtered or sterilised water etc.

We’ve even done a post or two on the topic. Links in bio.

We’ve done our best to follow the motto: Boil it, Cook it, Peel it, or Forget it!

It had to happen. It's reminiscent of the cycling adage: It’s not a matter of if you will come off a bike, it’s a matter of when.

Foresight:  We made a plan, stuck to it for 629 days and it worked.

Hindsight: Took our eyes off the ball because it was expedient.

Insight: Focus, focus, focus. We focus for a reason, because there’s an end goal we are trying to achieve and only through consistency can we achieve our goals.

7 t-shirts each: the unreleased series

We created a set of videos for our two-year nomad anniversary and never posted them. Not for any dramatic reason. We were travelling, working, moving, adapting. Life carried on and the posts never hap
